Part Time Groomer Role:

Westchester Cat Grooming, a feline-exclusive grooming salon in Chappaqua NY, is looking to hire a part time groomer. Applicants must have experience grooming cats professionally. Details are listed below. 

No barking dogs, all equipment and tools are provided- this is a W-2 position with base hourly salary plus shared tips plus quarterly bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Grooming:

  • Ability to complete nail trims, nail caps application, bath, blow dry, comb out, hair cuts, and mat removal services in a safe and efficient manner. 

  • Assist other groomers with cat handling when needed.

  • Perform first aid and CPR to a cat if needed.

• Administrative:

  • Manage calls, texts, emails, and any social media messages when needed

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Take pictures and videos of grooms for record keeping

  • Clean and sanitize equipment and tools

  • Maintain a clean workplace 

Compensation: 

• $25-30 base hourly salary based on experience and knowledge

• Plus shared tips with other employees on days when working with others

• Quarterly bonus after 90 days 

• For reference, current groomer who is CFMG is $42+/hour

Scheduling and Hours:

• Start date: as soon as possible

• Hours of operations are Tues-Fri 9am-5pm. 9 hour shifts with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Flexible to choose which day(s) you want to work.

Requirements: 

• Experience grooming cats in a professional setting. 

• Willingness to learn new skills and techniques

• Attention to detail

• Professional appearance

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to lift 30 lbs.

• Reliable transportation and driver’s license 

• Certification or current student through National Cat Groomers Institute is advantageous but not required.
